FAQ

Vacuum packaging and odors

At CUTS, we want to guarantee the freshness of the meat for as long as possible, and protect it from external influences that can impact its taste. This is why our meats are presented in vacuum packaging.

When opened, a strong odor may escape from the package, and the meat may have a dark color that is intriguing.

Don't panic! When you vacuum-pack meat, the odors are trapped, especially those resulting from the stagnation of blood (in fact, myoglobin) in the package. Opening it and contact with air then "reactivate" the odors. Which can lead you to believe, at first glance, that the meat is past its expiry date.

However, just leave the meat in the air for a few minutes, the smell will dissipate, and will confirm that the meat is perfectly edible and fresh!
