When the hob is heated to a high temperature, it tilts slightly inwards, at the centre of the bowl. As a result, foods such as tomatoes can roll or slide off the centre of the hob and fall into the fire.
To prevent this, the OFYR Retaining Ring was developed. The raised steel rim stops food but still offers the possibility to scrape the cooking plate with the spatula and push the residue under the rim, into the fire.
