While it was thought to have disappeared, it was finally found in Chile in 1991, the Carménère grape variety has since gained significant interest to the point of becoming one of the favorite varieties of Chilean viticulture.
You will understand why upon opening this bottle, smelling the aromas of ripe fruit enhanced by some subtly spicy notes on the finish.
Made from vines planted in the Colchagua region of central Chile, where the Mediterranean climate allows This long-cycle grape slowly develops the complexity of its flavors. After a late harvest at the end of April, destemming and pressing, the juice remains on its skins for three weeks, in order to acquire the roundness and taste power that characterize it. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in oak barrels.
It will go wonderfully with an Argentine Angus sirloin or a duck breast.
